This weekend I'm hanging around with my brother's family. I came down to check out my nephew's marching band competition. Thought these were appropriate

Sacredness in the mundane
Tonight I was privledged to spend most of the night in sacred moments. First with my team as they took me out to dinner and gave me some wonderful goodbye gifts. Then laughing and joking with a bunch of my knucklehead friends who I've truly, truly missed. Then lastly, spent some time talking with someone who has just been told she doesn't have long to live. This person has been one of those "difficult" people in my life over the last few years and has caused some considerable pain in our lives. Tonight, I was able to really forgive her for that and even ask her forgiveness for anything I'd done to hurt her. Then we just talked.
Each of those are moments,I've come to realize, are the mundane moments that make up what's most sacred about life. Those moments that really matter...
This song just reminds me of that we need to pay more attention to the scared in the every day.

Images help me find and realise ideas. I look at hundreds of very different, contrasting images and I pinch details from them, rather like people who eat from other people's plates. - Francis Bacon

Black Rapid Camera Stap
First day of going out and shooting using my new Black Rapid RS-2. I'll never use a traditional stap again! This thing is so much easier and so much more comfortable than any other stap I've ever had. Getting access to my camera was way easier than when I carry a sling bag. It was so easy to just over my body and pull the camera up to shooting position. Fast and secure!
Too me a little while to get the thing adjusted properly, but once I did, it was totally comfortable even while walking around in crowds.
Now..there's a couple things I'd like to suggest to the Black Rapid folks as well. First off, the fold over strap is great for holding batteries and memory cards, but there was no where that I could put my id away safely. I thought it'd fit in that area, but alas...no. As a woman, I'd like to be hands free too, but I don't carry a wallet in my back pocket for cards and cash (oh, and a tube of lipstick too) so it would be great if that front strap would be able to hold that. Thought about putting the cards in the same place the phone goes (which is great btw) but was worried about the magnetic strip on the cards being de-activiated.
Other than that...this is a GREAT stap and I'll definately continue using it and recommening it to friends.

Sunday Funnies
Ok...this might not be funny to anyone else on the planet. But I thought it was hilarious because it is so true in my life right now! Can't really decide exactly what color my project should be rated.
If the project is green, senior management can keep golfing, leaving you alone
Once it becomes yellow, senior management comes poking into your project until it's red.
After all, they're even less equipped to run the project than you are.
So make sure they never have a reason to see yellow!

Quotable Quote
The only dream worth having ... is to dream that you will live while you’re alive and die only when you’re dead ... To love. To be loved. To never forget your own insignificance. To never get used to the unspeakable violence and vulgar disparity of life around you. To seek joy in the saddest places. To pursue beauty to its lair. To never simplify what is complicated or to complicate what is simple. To respect strength, never power. Above all, to watch. To try and understand. To never look away. And never, never to forget.
